Engine 20-1 is a 2004 Seagrave Attacker with a 6 man full-tilt cab. It has a 1250 Gallon Per Minute (GPM) Waterous Fire Pump with a 750-gallon water tank. It's equipped with a 10 kw Harrison Hydraulic Generator that is used to power 2 1000-watt scene lights, a cord reel, and a variety of other equipment. 20-1 carries 2000' of 3 ½" supply line, 500' of 1 ½" size attack line, and 300' of 2 ½" size attack line. It carries an assortment of tools used by firefighters including: forcible entry tools, gas and electric powered ventilation fans, and various hose adapters. Engine 20-1 is our first out piece of apparatus for all calls involving a structure in our local (fires, fire alarms, gas leaks, etc.). 20-1 was purchased by the fire company in 2005.
Engine 20-2 is a 1996 Seagrave with a 1500 GPM pump and a 750 gallon water tank. Its powered with a Detroit Diesel Engine and an Allison Transmission. This engine can carry up to 6 firefighters. It carries 2000’ of 3 ½” supply line and 700’ of various size attack lines. It also carries various forcible entry tools, cribbing for vehicle stabilization, and an electric and gas powered ventilation fan. 20-2 runs first out for all calls outside a structure such as vehicles, brush, trash, and investigations. It runs second out on all structure fires and vehicle rescues in our district.
Engine 20-3 is a 1987 Seagrave with a 1250 GPM Waterous Fire Pump and a 500 gallon water tank. This engine can carry up to 6 firefighters and was the first enclosed cab fire truck in Upper Darby Township. It carries 2000' of 3 ½" inch supply line and 700' of various size attack lines. It also carries forcible entry tools and an electric ventilation fan. Engine 20-3 runs second out for all non-structure fires and runs fourth out on all building assignments.
Ladder 20 is a 1996 Seagrave ladder truck. This truck is equipped with a 1250 GPM pump and a 350-gallon water tank. It also has a 100' aerial ladder with a pre-piped water way. Ladder 20 can carry up to six firefighters. It carries 500' of 3 ½" supply line and 350' of attack lines. It can act as either an engine or a ladder truck or both at a fire scene. This truck also carries numerous forcible entry tools, 2 electric ventilation fans, 3 ventilation saws and numerous types and sizes of rope. Ladder 20 is our 3rd out piece of apparatus for structures in our district and responds 1st on mutual aide responses within Upper Darby Township.
Rescue 20 is a 1997 PL Custom rescue truck on a Freightliner chassis. It is used for fire ground support activities as well as all types of rescues. Rescue 20 can carry up to 10 firefighters. This truck carries 2 full sets of the Hurst "Jaws of Life", which are used for vehicle extrications as well as other types of rescues, As well as numerous hand tools used for rescues, and 4 "highlift" jacks, and assorted size and length ropes. It also carries numerous firefighting tools and electric lights. There is also a command post area in the back of the truck. Rescue 20 responds to all vehicle accidents with entrapment in Upper Darby Township along with Highland Park Fire Company Rescue 26. Rescue 20 is also first out for other type of rescue calls in our district and 4th out for fire calls. Rescue 20 was purchased and is owned by the Garrettford Drexel Hill Fire Company.
Utility 20-8 is a 1978 Dodge Power Wagon which was acquired from the US Army in around 1995. It can carry up to 3 firefighters and is used as a utility truck and for manpower. It’s equipped with a 15 kw generator, an electric arc welder, and an air compressor. It carries 2 trash pumps used for pumping water out of buildings and several hundred feet of 1 ¾” hoseline. It also carries a variety of fire extinguishers, hazardous material spill containment supplies, and an assortment of hand tools and lights. 20-8 runs out last on all calls.
