Tuesday, March 27, 2012 19:00 - At 7 pm, Tuesday night, members began some spring cleaning by stripping down Rescue 20 and thoroughly cleaning every nook and cranny from floor to ceiling, including every compartment. Each tool and piece of equipment on the truck was also inspected and cleaned. As the boys were wrapping up, the bells sounded for an investigation at 130 Abbey Ter. for an unknown odor inside the apartment. As Engine 20-3 (Capt. Stevenson) was preparing to roll out, the tones dropped again, this time for the freshly cleaned Rescue to respond for the RIT assignment on a house fire in Springfield. Rescue 20 (D/C M. Morgan) then hit the street also. The Rescue was recalled enroute and the crew on Abbey Ter. found the odor source to be gasoline leaking from a car out front. After tossing some oil-dry 20-3 returned. Thanks to everyone who came up to help with cleaning the Rescue and taking in a couple of runs.
