Tuesday, April 10, 2012 04:30 - Around 4:30 am Tuesday, numerous fire companies throughout Delaware County, including Company 20, were hit out for the Delaware County Task Force Activation. Engine 20-3 (Capt. Donohue) responded to the deployment area at the Marple Crossroads Shopping Ctr. From there, the task force leader advised crews they would be heading to Upper Chester and Berks Counties to assist area fire companies on battling a large forest fire in the French Creek State Park. The units were dispersed throughout the area, with 20-3 being sent to stage at the Twin Valley Fire Co. in Chester County, approximately one hour and ten minutes from Drexel Hill. While some of the task force units were sent onto the front lines to assist with battling the blaze, 20-3 remained in staging. The Delaware County Task Force was relieved by a task force from Lancaster County around 3 pm and 20-3 was back in Drexel Hill shortly after 4 pm.
